The Man Of Tomorrow
A Digital & Mixed Media Exhibition
By
Victor Latour
Expressing emotion with sensational experiences to reach past the individual opens a visual outline that teaches and reacts to a developing order. Utilizing a framework of an epic story that extends the depth and tone of personalities and scenes, Victor Latour designs the elemental foundation of a comic book realm named DARKfire. While propelling the contours of details among the vast landscapes, Latour’s artistic visions balance characterization and subtle textures within the nuances of fantasy and imagination. Through the representational conveyance of a post-modern society, Latour's digital images share glimmers of humanity that are often absorbed by the dynamics of an industrial culture.
"Technology is a beacon that I use to express the complexities of many voices, yet I maintain a humble stance within the presence of such a potent energy. By reaching out past myself, I continue to tap into a greater potential of an evolving medium and inter-connective global consciousness."
Latour is a Miami native who has been exercising various creative techniques that were developed while studying at Miami-Dade College North Campus, where he is in process of earning an A.A. After 7 years of focused artwork, Latour cites the styles of Alex Ross, Jeff Bruckner, Adam Hughes, Muse and Coldplay as artistic guides and inspirational forces for his own pieces. Over the last few years, Latour has been featuring his aesthetic skills in a selection of community outreach projects including a mural project in 2003 that was sponsored by Miami-Dade College North Campus entitled "Leap Of Faith", as well as a history poster competition - for which he won second place. Victor has also displayed his work locally at The Bass Museum Of Art as well as various student art shows in South Florida. The Wallflower Gallery is proud to present Victor Latour as a featured artist for this 2004 Fine Art Exhibition.
