Thomas Daniel Burnikel

Vibrations of Color, Sound & Nature

A Fine Art Exhibition of Mixed Media Photography

Tapping into the aural essence within images reveals a depth of textured colors and soulful reflections.
Exploring vibrations with a resonance of light and refraction, Thomas Daniel Burnikel opens sensory portals
to connect moving energies through mixed-media photography.  Highlighting compositional dynamics
to enhance subtle tones, Burnikel's creative visions merge standard photography techniques with modern
post-production processing to illuminate the aesthetic flairs of the images.  Transcending dimensions
between light, shadow and substance, Burnikel's pictures extend a fluid motion that unveils emotion
through color, contour and connectivity.

"My photography touches a spiritual realm that I explore with meditation and vibration.
Tuning into sound waves and organic rhythms, I reach into nature's harmonics to convey the depth of the moment."

After moving to South Florida in '70, Burnikel, a New York native, generated an affinity for
photographic techniques at age 20 while earning a BFA from Florida State University in '88.
Following graduation, Burnikel utilized his skills and established himself as a commercial photographer.
Now he is currently working towards a MFA at Barry University.  With a perspective that meshes
modern technology, ancient spirituality and current events, Burnikel cites Diego Valazquez,
Vincent Van Gogh, Laurence Gartel, Jimi Hendrix, Guns N' Roses and The Doors, plus
Kundalini & Sanskit mantras as creative guides for his artistic vision.  Over the years, Burnikel's photography
was showcased in various exhibitions including the Museum of Contemporary Art (North Miami) in '08,
Splashlight Studio (South Beach) in '08, Devore Gallery (Coral Gables) in '91 and
currently in the Barry University Student Union (North Miami).  In addition, Burnikel's pictures were
published in XS Magazine in September '91 and '92 editions, plus his commercial photographs
have been in Yachting Magazine, plus Food and Wine Magazine.  As an extension of his
network outreach, Burnikel is also involved in Luminos Collective, an artist cooperative that supports
emerging and established artists.  In addition, Thomas continues to broaden his scope of
creative mediums to include painting, drawing, sculpting and multi-media video projects.
