Pietro Rapisarda
Old World Revival
An Oil and Mixed Media Exhibition
Creative inspiration opens portals through time when expressive talents
flourish with fresh aspects. Utilizing a classical technique with a surrealistic
edge, Pietro Rapisarda transcends periodical styles with his scenic portrayal of
Renaissance era characterization. While exploring the precision of spacial
relations, Rapisarda’s artistic creations open zones that depict the gritty
nuances of relationships and the interaction of societal segments. Rapisarda's
paintings focus on the humanistic qualities of tragedy and mysticism through his
storytelling motif that plays with the strengths and weaknesses of people.
"For me, art is an interpretive manifestation of life’s perceptions,
opening the world to a new level of understanding. My artwork reaches into the
past styles, yet the themes are as modern as they are ancient."
Rapisarda is an Italian native who has studied his country’s creative
history while he learned to polish his own artistic style and form through a
constant influx of artistic endeavors. After 27 years of painting, Rapisarda
sites the works of Canaletto, Bernini and others in the surrealistic movement as
inspirational forces and motivators for his own pieces. Pietro has also
displayed his work locally at the Hollywood Arts & Crafts Show For Children,
Funktional Funk and he maintains a gallery space on Harrison Street in
Hollywood.
