The Coming Of The Days Of Fire
An Acrylic and Mixed Media Exhibition
By
Paul Lewin
Reflecting the forces of nature through a parallel web of existence opens the domains of obscured perceptions. With an edge for primal design and organic textures, Paul Lewin fuses graffiti-style techniques with tribal influences to create a distinctive tonality of layered imagery. Abstracting a spiritual discipline with naturalistic values, Lewin’s creative translations convey a depth of sensory awareness that weaves consciousness through intricate contours. Lewin's paintings touch the raw humanistic connectors that balances between light and dark.
"Ancient cultures inspire me to expand my mind through the scenic passages of my imagination, the history penetrates my spirit with powerful colors. Through size and detail, each image grows to become a meditative transmission, channeling my intimate links to the Earth."
Since moving to Miami in 1977, Lewin, a Jamaican native, studied some artistic techniques from South Ridge High School and with a friend, Marna Widom. After 9 years of painting, Lewin sites the works of H.R. Giger, Zidslaw Beksinski, Salvador Dali, Neurosis, The Wu-Tang Clan, Enya, and Smashing Pumpkins as inspirational directors and focal constructionists for his own creations. Paul has also displayed his work locally at the Shanti Gallery, The Bird Road Artist Society, Bayzid, Kawa Café, the Polish American Club, Mission and Recluse DNA performances, which also featured his ferocious, percussion skills. The Wallflower Gallery is proud to present Paul Lewin as a featured artist for this Fine Art Exhibition.
