An Acrylic and Mixed Media Exhibition
By
Madiz Gomez
Tapping into the nature of subjects through shades and outlines lifts the vigor of direction. Balancing sentiment with rich colors and personal textures, Madiz Gomez shares a vibrant energy that conveys the warmth of humanism through the essence of scenic design. Utilizing spirited characterization within a subtle scope of contours and perspective, Gomez’s creative portrayals invigorate the senses through emotion and projected intention. Extending the vitality of the images with familiar tones, Gomez's paintings expose a softness that emerges through the connective elements of the designs.
"The inspiration for my artwork comes from reflective movements of the individual pieces and my past experiences. With a fascination for point of view, I strive to enable an emergence of atmosphere and connections between people."
After moving to Miami 17 years ago, Gomez, a Colombian native, expanded her creative foundation by earning and A.A. form Miami-Dade College North Campus from the Fine Arts Program. After 3 years of focused artwork and a lifetime of development, Gomez cites the tones of Alice Neal, Paul Kadinsky, Paul Kee, Tori Amos and The Red Hot Chili Peppers as stylistic beacons and spiritual motivators for her own pieces. Over the last few years, Gomez has been sharing her creative energy in a few community outreach projects, including a mural project in 2003 that was sponsored by Miami-Dade College North Campus entitled "Leap Of Faith". Madiz has also displayed her work locally at a selection of student exhibitions with many shows earning awards including a scholarship for the #1 Art Student in Dade County. The Wallflower Gallery is proud to present Madiz Gomez as a featured artist for this 2004 Fine Art Exhibition.
