Joaquin Mota
Silent Symbols
An Acrylic and Mixed Media Exhibition
Artistic language transcends conventional structure when details are
expressed in the power of form and design. With composition that touches beyond
a universal perception, Joaquin Mota combines graphic design techniques and
poetic symbolism to construct his artwork into a personal vocabulary. Mota's
paintings focus on the interaction between the fundamental relationship of the
lines and hues as they define our society.
"My artwork opens my spirit as I interpret the movement of the world
with the lines that shape the colors and textures. Within the simplicity of form
there is a depth of meaning and a power of a soul, waiting to be read."
Mota is a native of Caracas, Venezuela who developed his artistic foundation
in architectural design before studying graphic design. After 10 years of
painting, Mota sites the works of Joan Miró, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee,
Pablo Picasso and Oswaldo Vigas as creative predecessors to his own poetic
language of art. In the year that Mota has been a South Florida resident, he has
displayed his work at the South Art Gallery, the Feast Of The Palate and he
recently at a short exhibition at One Biscayne Tower. Currently, Mota is working
on expanding his artistic dimensions with multi- media visuals and hi-tech
projections as he continues to push the form in which he expresses his scope of
the world.
