Jeff Hosang
Constructive Evolution
A Metal and Mixed Media Exhibition
Developing artistic style with structure is core to the focus of
compositional movement, as the medium and the artist collide with ideas and
constructive logistics. For Jeff Hosang, the foundational challenge is met with
the passion to shape each piece into something more powerful than the raw parts.
Complementing a neo-primitive outlook towards design with an inspiration to feel
the essence of the components, Hosang tediously details each creation with a
semi-polished refinement. Reflecting his outlook towards the progression of his
art, Hosang adjusts to the distinctive nuances of his sculptures and furniture
with the insight of advancement.
"My artwork is the evolutionary process of the individual parts and the
ideas in my head. The creative impulse beckons me to move forward with my craft,
as experience pushes the style to approach new levels. I try to capture
perfection in imperfection" Hosang is a New York native who moved to
Florida 10 years ago.
After nine years of crafting, Hosang sites the works of native, indigenous
cultures and a wide range of musical styles as a motivational forces for his own
pieces. In 1994, Hosang entered a competition sponsored by The Guild and won a
National Merit Award for a design of a chair. Jeff has also displayed his work
locally and he is currently moving his artistry style into a new aesthetic
direction.
