Daniel Fiorda
Edgy Illumination
Metallic Sculpture
As form and function merge with distinctive style, artistic perception fuses
the power of the individual parts to create objects with a greater depth and
meaning. From a desire to complement the unique shapes of metal with a vision,
Eduardo Daniel Fiorda combines found objects with a sculptural technique that
contours light and shadow. In many ways, Fiorda’s art flows beyond the actual
form of the piece, as the reflective light is shaped by details within the
object and cast out within its space. Fiorda’s inspiration comes from his
connection to the features within the metal, as he creates each piece with a
poetic insight.
"My focus on form is a tribute to Nature as a model for simple structure,
since the pieces accent the details with an internal glow. Working with
direction and inflection, I design each edge to cut the light with a shining
texture. I strive to balance my sculptures with a sense of movement and emotion
within the medium, lifting the energy to a new level."
Fiorda is a native of Argentina who initiated his artistic motif with guidance
from his father and grandfather when he was a child. Throughout his 16 years of
exhibitions, Fiorda has earned recognition and received awards from the Coral
Gables and Pinecrest Art Festivals. Since moving to Florida 9 years ago, Daniel
has displayed his work locally at the South Florida Art Center and Miami City
Hall.
